Ava Hartman and Impression (Poe)

Fairburn, GA – In the final competition of the show season, and on her 13th birthday weekend, Ava Hartman and Impression secured the reserve champion ribbon in the combined Junior Hunter 3’3″ division at the Chattahoochee Hills Equestrian Center. In a field of 11 junior hunters, Ava and Impression battled with Bridget Hickton on Fearless for the division lead all weekend. Both were tied with 18 points after Saturday’s rides and champion came down to the final ride on Sunday. Both had beautiful rides in the handy round with Hickton placing 1st and Hartman 2nd.

“I was super proud of Poe (Impression) this weekend. We found every distance and he was such a good boy. I am so happy with how far we’ve progressed this season. Earlier this year, after we bought Poe, I wasn’t even sure if we could get around a full course. My dream was to ride in the Junior Hunters, but it seemed like it was such a long way off.”

Hartman and Impression didn’t start riding in the Junior Hunters until July, more than half way through the show season. Despite the late start, they finished with two division Champion ribbons and two Reserves. In addition to the Reserve Champion ribbon at the Atlanta Fall Classic II, they also finished 3rd of 18 in the Junior Hunter Combined Classic.
